JENNIFER ANISTON QUOTES

American actress (1969- )

Jennifer Aniston quote

I don't like injustice. We're living in a time where, whether it's the Internet or tabloids, being sh-tty has become a sport. We're just grown-up bullies.

Yoga calms me down. It's a therapy session, a workout, and meditation all at the same time!

You know what makes me feel old? When I see girls who are 20-something, or the new crop of actresses, and I think, Aren't we kind of the same age? You lose perspective. Or being offered the part of a woman with a 17-year-old child. It's like, "I'm not old enough to have a 17-year-old!" And then you realize, well, yeah, you are.

"The Rachel" was high maintenance. I'd curse ... every time I had to blowdry. It took three brushes--it was like doing surgery!

People laugh at me. Sometimes I know why, and sometimes I don't. But I can pretty much find humor in anything. That is a necessary part of life. I don't want to say laughter is healing, because it sounds corny, but it's a release.

If I programmed my own TV network, it would air good news! Just positive stories. Heroic stories. Cute puppy dogs doin' stuff.

Thirties. Go to therapy. Clean up all of the sh-t. Clean up all of the toxins and the noise. Understand who you are. Educate yourself on the self.

Having experienced everything you don't want in a partner over time, it starts to narrow down to what you actually do want.

There are many stages of grief. It's sad, something coming to an end. It cracks you open, in a way -- cracks you open to feeling. When you try to avoid the pain, it creates greater pain. I'm a human being, having a human experience in front of the world. I wish it weren't in front of the world. I try really hard to rise above it.

I'm excited about what the future holds. I'm not a fortune-teller; I have no idea how it will play out. People say, "What are you going to do?" I don't know. I kind of love that not knowing.

I used to tell myself that tabloids were like comic books, not to be taken seriously, just a soap opera for people to follow when they need a distraction. But I really can't tell myself that anymore because the reality is the stalking and objectification I've experienced first-hand, going on decades now, reflects the warped way we calculate a woman's worth.

It would be great to have a little getaway place somewhere hot, maybe down in Mexico, since I love it there. But now that I've banned myself from the sun, I don't know how that will work.

I used to love hospitals. That's another weird thing about me. I remember when my grandmother -- so sweet, God rest her soul -- was in the hospital, I always loved visiting her there. Very morbid memory! Most people hate hospitals. And I'm not a big fan of them now, but there was something about it for me back then.

Relationships are two people; everyone is accountable. A lot goes into a relationship coming together, and a lot goes into a relationship falling apart. Even if it's 98 percent the other person's fault, it's 2 percent yours.... You can only clean up your side of the street.

From years of experience, I've learned tabloid practices, however dangerous, will not change, at least not any time soon. What can change is our awareness and reaction to the toxic messages buried within these seemingly harmless stories served up as truth and shaping our ideas of who we are. We get to decide how much we buy into what's being served up, and maybe some day the tabloids will be forced to see the world through a different, more humanized lens because consumers have just stopped buying the bullshit.

My first job was as an extra on my dad's soap opera, Search for Tomorrow. When I was 12, I asked him if I could get a part on his show. I wore a yellow skating outfit, and I was kinda large. It's hard to look good in yellow, and I certainly did not. I remember I got a check for about $100, and I was blown away. Later, I waited a lot of tables, and I wasn't very good at that. I dropped more than one Alpine burger in customers' laps, and you just do not want all of that Swiss cheese and mushrooms in your pants. I wasn't a good waitress, but I was told that I was very nice and charming, so people liked me anyway.

My best hostess tip is to have good food and really good music! We usually put on the Charlie Brown Christmas album. That's my favorite.
